3rd Taal Barahi Cup 2022, 9 A Side one-day soccer tournament for both open age and Veteran (35+) is scheduled to be held on Sunday from 8 am – 7 pm August 14, 2022, at Webbs Avenue Playing Fields, Auburn, NSW, 2144. The reputed League cum Knock-out combination tournament is annually organised by Fewa FC. This year, 24 Nepalese Football Clubs in Australia representing different states of Australia, in the free age category and 8 in the veterans’ category will be chasing the covetous championship.

The Fewa FC Secretary Roshan Timilsina set the tone of the team draw conducted on the eve of the tournament. It was graced by Ms. Simrita Ranjitkar, the Executive Director of Grace International Education and Migration, Sydney. From the chair, the Fewa FC President Biswash Gurung said to Nepalese Australian, “On behalf of the organizer I would like to thank all respected supportive and cooperative stakeholders including the generous sponsors and media request all to make this edition’s championship too memorably and remarkably successful. We would like to request all participating teams to display their splendid games and sportsmanship. Our main motive is to bring harmony and extend brotherhood by sharing and demonstrating skills and experiences among all the Nepalese Football enthusiasts living in Australia through the medium of this beautiful game.”

In the Open Age category, the winner will be awarded with a cash prize of $ 4000, Champion Trophy, Medals, and Certificates and Runner-Up will win $1500, Runners Up Trophy, Medals, and Certificates. Best GK, The highest Scorer and Best Player of the Tournament each will win a $100, Trophy & Certificate. The fair Play Team will win Trophy and Certificate. In the Veteran’s category, the winner will win $1,000, Champion Trophy, Medals and Certificates, and Runner Up will win $500, Runners Up Trophy, Medals and Certificates

Best GK, Highest Scorer and Best Player of the Tournament, and Fair Play Team each will be awarded Trophy and Certificate.

The tournament is supported by ANFA, Australia, Pokhara Volleyball, Australia, Pokhara Samaj Australia, and LG Association. Raju Manandhar, former All Nepal Football Association Treasurer is appointed as the Match Commissioner of the tournament and renowned footballer Bikal Sherchan will be in the role of the Match Coordinator of the Tournament.

The club has announced that two Nepal nationals Bimal Rana and Hemant Thapa Magar, who just arrived in Sydney last week, are playing in the tournament for the home team Fewa FC.
