Sydney, 27 August – Melbourne All-Stars is the champion of ‘Grace International 3rd Taal Barahi Cup 2022’, in the free age category held on August 14, 2022, at Webbs Avenue Playing Fields, Auburn, NSW, 2144. The well-known 9 A Side one-day soccer tournament for both open age and veterans (35+) was organized by the Sydney-based reputed football club Fewa FC. In the veterans’ (35+) category St George Nepalese club (SGNC), lifted the Cup.

24 teams representing different states of Australia, in the free age category and 8 in the veterans’ category chased for the renowned League cum Knock-out combination championship

 In the Open Age category, Melbourne All-Stars were awarded Champion Trophy, medals, and certificates.  Runner-Up SGNC was awarded $1500, a Runners Up trophy, medals, and certificates. Best goalkeeper SGNC goalkeeper Milan Giri, the highest scorer Melbourne All-Stars Darshan Gurung, and the Most Valuable Player Santosh Tamang each won $100, a trophy, and a certificate.  Nepalese Football Club Tasmania (NFCT), which was declared The Fair Play Team, was awarded a trophy and certificate.

In the veteran’s category, the winner SGNC was awarded a cash prize of $1,000, a Champion trophy, medals, and a certificate, and Runner Up Parra Park FC was awarded a cash prize of $500, Runners Up trophy, medals, and certificates. Best goalkeeper Anil Shrestha, the highest scorer Sujit KC, and the Most Valuable Player of the tournament Dinesh Amatya (all from SGNC), and the Southwest Football FC was awarded Fair Play Team trophy and certificate.

Fewa FC President Bishwas Gurung, Simrita Ranjitkar, the Executive Director, Nirajan Tamrakar, the representative of Grace International Education and Migration, the Finance Manager at Rey Properties Dinesh Khatri, NRNA, Australia, President Nanda Gurung, Vice President Deb Gurung, Fewa FC advisor, and Pokhara Samaj President Tara Gurung, ANFA President Bijen Batajoo, The CEO of Active Mortgage & Finance Lekh Gurung, Founder Advisor, and Sahara representative  Prem Gurung,  former Fewa FC founder member and advisor Dhruba Gurung, Fewa FC Vice-President Milan Ghale, and the Match Commissioner Raju Manandhar and Match Coordinator Bikal Sherchan distributed the trophies, cash prizes, medals, and certificates.

Significant numbers of community members turned up to watch the well-known football championship.
